Technical Officer, Biomedical Engineering $62,585 - $66,653 - Perm F/T - TGO2

Under the limited direction of the Manager, Biomedical Engineering, you will assist in providing a complete biomedical engineering service to the Repatriation General Hospital. This will include implementing preventative maintenance programs, acceptance testing of new medical equipment, and participating in the Biomedical Engineering Department's broad range of activities. Working within a multidisciplinary team environment, you will carry out repairs, maintenance, calibration, installation, commissioning, acceptance and in-service inspections of a comprehensive range of biomedical equipment, ensuring compliance with all relevant Australian and International Standards. Using the Department's Asset Management System, you will maintain documentation of all work performed and provide advice on the suitability of medical devices and technologies for use within the Hospital. The Repatriation General Hospital (RGH) is a 300 bed acute care public hospital specialising in the care of older people and veterans. The hospital provides a range of general medical and surgical services to people living in Adelaide and offers high quality integrated care from the acute stages through to rehabilitation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring extensive, relevant experience in the acquisition, maintenance and repair of electronic and electromechanical devices to strict engineering standards. A Diploma in Biomedical engineering or an equivalent qualification will be required. With a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and techniques, you will be able to transfer knowledge from one device to another and have sound knowledge of the relevant Australian and International Standards and Codes.
