TAFE
NSW, New England Institute
A DYNAMIC & MODERN ORGANISATION
The New England Institute is a Registered Training Organisation
that is recognised throughout the North and North West of New South
Wales as the most important and significant provider of vocational
education and training in the region.
TAFE means technical and further education, but our Vision takes
technical and further education into the 21st Century. We want to
help people to achieve goals in their working life by setting them
onto the path towards employment or giving them skills so that they
can move along a career path or take up different employment challenges.
We help people and industry learn. Technical and further education
has been the cornerstone of community development for a long time.
It has provided generations of skilled people who have built and
supported the community, providing employment, wealth and personal
opportunities for many Australians. Since 1991 the New England Institute
has been the administrative structure, bringing together the management
of technical colleges into a regional setting. We now have an efficient
faculty-based operation so that we can provide even greater opportunities
for learning.
A range of support options that are designed to assist all students
enhances our excellent teaching. We have modern libraries, active
student associations, provide support for people with disabilities
and a unit dedicated to providing opportunities for indigenous Australians.
